The EHEA (European Higher Education Area) launched a call for expressions of interest to Member States for the conduction of National Assessments of their policies related to the social dimension of higher education, under the Erasmus+ INSPIRE project. The National Assessments aim to provide expert, constructive, and impartial “feedback,” intended to guide and improve national strategies, policies, and practices related to the social dimension.
Portugal’s expression of interest was selected, given the ongoing comprehensive review of the Regulation for the Awarding of Scholarships to Economically Disadvantaged Higher Education Students, accompanied by complementary measures related to expanding access to Higher Education for certain groups of students, the implementation of programs to reduce dropout rates and promote mental health, and the continuous development of the approach to the particular situation of students with disabilities.
The assessment, which is based on the analysis of existing data and instruments and interviews with stakeholders, will be conducted in 2026.
