The Portuguese startup RumiPep, developed under the scope of CiiEM – Interdisciplinary Research Center of the Egas Moniz School of Health & Science, was distinguished with two awards at the EIT Food 2025 program, the largest European innovation initiative in the agri-food system.
The project won 1st place in the Innovator Fellowship Programme 2025 and also took 2nd prize in the EWA – Empowering Women in Agrifood, being highlighted for its sustainable approach to animal feed, aligned with the One Health principle, with impact on public health, the reduction of antibiotic use, and environmental mitigation.
APESP congratulates the researchers Ana Cristina Vítor and Joana Oliveira, CiiEM, and Egas Moniz School of Health & Science for this international recognition, which demonstrates the talent and capacity of private and cooperative higher education institutions to transform scientific research into innovative solutions with a real impact on society and the economy.
