On November 17, ISEC Lisboa was the stage for a day totally dedicated to aeronautics. In partnership with the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) and the “Your Wings Start Here” campaign (“As Tuas Asas Começam Aqui”), the program was designed for primary, secondary, and higher education levels. This initiative sought to bring new generations closer to professionals, promoting networking, and the different areas of the aeronautical sector.
During the morning, 50 primary school students participated in a session focused on aviation professions. The opening featured Professor Eurico Brito and various specialists — pilots, air traffic controllers, and representatives from aviation schools. Through seven thematic stations, the students explored the aeronautical universe.
The afternoon was dedicated to secondary education, bringing together 114 students from four institutions. The panel “Career Opportunities in Aviation – Women in Aviation” highlighted the paths of professionals such as Rafaela Bravo, Mafalda Rocha, Inês Santos, and Patrícia Eleutério, showcasing the diversity of careers in the sector. This was followed by a workshop on drones led by SpeedBird Aero, complemented by a panel on unmanned aerial systems.
The session for higher education began with an intervention by Dr. Tânia Carraquico, who underlined the importance of initiatives that bridge industry and academia. This was followed by two final panels: “Sustainability in Aviation,” featuring specialists from various institutions, and “AI and Aviation: The Future!”, which addressed the impacts of new technologies in the sector.
The closing was conducted by Professor Doctor Cristina Ventura and Dr. Ana Vieira da Mata, who highlighted the value of Fly Day for the development of aviation and the inspiration of new generations.
ISEC Lisboa thanked all participants, reinforcing its commitment to the training and enhancement of a sector considered strategic.
