In an interview with the weekly newspaper SOL, the President of APESP, António Almeida Dias, highlighted the barriers faced by the private sector in Private Higher Education.
The lack of equity in access to funding and ideological prejudice have prevented a level playing field for competition. However, social, private, and cooperative education institutions can represent an enormous advantage for the country’s internationalization.
Private institutions have demonstrated excellence and the capacity to compete, bringing innovation to the country. For the President of APESP, it is mandatory that they be guaranteed more autonomy to continue on this path.
