The IPLUSO (Polytechnic Institute of Lusophony) promoted, on November 26th, a meeting that brought together science, technology, and environmental conservation. The event, organized by Professor Dulce Franco, was attended by the President of the National Directorate of Grupo Lobo, Professor Francisco Petrucci-Fonseca, Professor Fernando Duarte, President of IPLUSO and creator of the digital application on wolf packs, Professor Luís Pires from the Superior School of Engineering and Technologies (EET) and creator of a digital educational game about the Iberian wolf, and Professor Maia Neves Gonçalves, a member of the Iberian Wolf project team. The session’s main objective was to promote dialogue between scientific research and new educational technologies, showing how interdisciplinary collaboration can contribute to the preservation of the Iberian wolf and the environmental awareness of new generations. Professor Fernando Duarte presented a digital application for locating wolf packs in Portugal and Spain. In turn, Professor Luís Pires presented a digital game he developed, explaining how it allows students to learn about the behavior, ecology, and threats to the Iberian wolf in an interactive and engaging way. During the meeting, Professor Dulce Franco, coordinator of the Iberian Wolf Project, highlighted the importance of environmental education as a tool to promote awareness and change attitudes towards species preservation. At the close of the session, IPLUSO’s commitment to projects that articulate scientific knowledge, technological innovation, and social responsibility was reaffirmed. The meeting was an inspiring example of how science, education, and technology can work together to protect natural heritage and promote a more informed and sustainable society.
