The Portuguese Association of Private Higher Education (APESP) defended this Tuesday the inclusion of institutions from the social, private, and cooperative sectors in the Ministry of Education’s programs to train more teachers.
One day after the Ministry of Education signed protocols with public higher education institutions to train more teachers by 2030, committing to pay the full cost per student, APESP is defending the inclusion of the sector in these program-contracts.
The Ministry of Education “left out non-state institutions—a sign of statism that contradicts the spirit of cooperation that the country demands in this matter,” APESP accused in a statement sent to newsrooms.
