The President of APESP, António Almeida Dias, participated in FNESP – National Forum of Private Higher Education, held in São Paulo, considered the largest higher education gathering in Latin America.
APESP’s presence came at the invitation of SEMESP, its counterpart entity in Brazil, which brings together private higher education institutions and, like APESP in Portugal, plays a central role in the representation and enhancement of the sector.
In his speech, before an audience of over 1,700 participants, the President of APESP announced that Portugal, Brazil, and Angola, through APESP, SEMESP, and AIESPA (Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Angola), are taking decisive steps towards the creation of a Lusophone Private Higher Education network.
This project aims not only to strengthen academic, scientific, and institutional cooperation among the three countries but also to progressively involve all remaining private higher education institutions in Portuguese-speaking countries, creating a common platform for dialogue and collaboration.
This is an initiative intended to project Lusophone private higher education onto the international stage, promoting greater articulation between systems and expanding the contribution of its universities and institutes to global development.
