On 19 March, ISEC Lisboa hosted the Engagement Event | Roadmap Pitch, a key milestone in the European project Developing Skills and Capabilities for Innovative Air Mobility – AIRMOB, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme. The event brought together around 20 strategic partners to discuss the future of Innovative Air Mobility in Portugal and Europe.
Representing the president of ISEC Lisboa, Tânia Carraquico, was Professor Emília Baltazar, coordinator of the Master’s programmes in Air Transport Sustainability Management and Air Transport Operations, who highlighted the institution’s role in training qualified professionals for the aeronautical sector. The strategic pitch was led by Professor Jorge Silva, from the Department of Aerospace Sciences at the University of Beira Interior (UBI).
The session presented the strategic roadmap that will outline the new professions of the future and guide the standardised training of new professionals in the sector. In the presence of some twenty key partners, the debate focused on safety, regulation and the urgent need to train qualified technicians to operate and maintain unmanned aircraft, such as drones, and the new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles.
ISEC Lisboa’s involvement in hosting this project underscores its commitment to international collaboration and to bridging the gap between higher education and the labour market, contributing to the development of sustainable and technological solutions in the field of aviation.
