The APESP is represented on the National Council for Pedagogical Innovation in Higher Education by António Ponces de Carvalho. The new advisory body of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Higher Education, chaired by Patrícia Rosado Pinto, has the mission of promoting pedagogical innovation and training, as well as improving the quality of teaching and contributing to the success and well-being of the academic communities in Portugal.
The CNIPES is an independent, collegiate body with advisory functions to the Government. It was created as one of the milestones for the sub-measure “Pedagogical Innovation and Modernization in Higher Education — Creation of centres of excellence for pedagogical innovation.”
Among the members of the CNIPES, who took office on February 14, in Lisbon, are national and foreign experts with ties to higher education, ranging from representative associations to students and Centres of Excellence for Pedagogical Innovation.
Representing APESP at the swearing-in session was Cristina Ventura, Vice-President of the Polytechnic College.
