30th Anniversary Ceremony

Present at the APESP’s 30th-anniversary ceremonies, the Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre, guaranteed that the RJIES (Legal Framework for Higher Education Institutions) will ensure the autonomy of the institutions.

According to Fernando Alexandre, the objective is “to revise the RJIES in order to guarantee the autonomy of the institutions, with accountability and regulation. If there is one area where there must be regulation, it is in higher education. This is not contradictory to autonomy.”

The Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation assured that the “development trajectory” of higher education involves internationalization and that “Portugal must contribute to Europe’s strategic and technological autonomy.”
