The Private Higher Education Network in Portugal is composed of 61 Higher Education Institutions, 20 of a university nature and 41 of a polytechnic nature. This group of establishments accommodates about 20% of Portuguese higher education students, reaching a total of 92,500 students in 2024/25.

Of the 61 institutions in the network, 8 are Universities, 8 are Polytechnics Institutes, and the remainder are non-integrated higher education establishments.

The Lisbon Metropolitan Area concentrates the majority (53%) of private higher education institutions.
