On May 4th, a meeting was held with the Director of OEI Portugal, Ana Paula Laborinho, and the Coordinator for Higher Education and Science Programs, Isabel Joaquim, as part of the preparations for the VII European Union–Latin America and the Caribbean (EU-LAC) Academic Summit. During the encounter, the framework and objectives of the Summit were presented, highlighting its strategic relevance for strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.
Regarding collaboration, the possibility of holding a pre-Summit session was considered. This event would involve the diplomatic corps accredited in Portugal and take place within a university setting, aiming to promote the institutional framework of the initiative and enhance the mobilization of relevant stakeholders.
The meeting also addressed the shared interest in deepening the collaboration between the OEI and APESP member institutions, namely through the development of joint programs in the fields of higher education and science.
