On January 28th and 29th, Saúde à Porta – a health volunteering project by Santa Maria Solidária – continued its awareness sessions aimed at people in vulnerable situations and the agents who support them.
The “How to Act?” session was developed in two stages.
First stage: A training session on First Aid and Basic Life Support was held, focusing on street-level intervention. It addressed situations such as wounds, hemorrhages, seizures, and hypothermia. The training was directed at Porta Solidária volunteers and led by Prof. Abílio Teixeira, Nurse Rui Jorge (SMHS Alumni), and volunteer students from the project.
Second stage: An intervention took place with the beneficiaries of @portasolidaria, featuring accessible and dynamic information sharing.
This skills-based volunteering allows Nursing students to put their knowledge at the service of the community, promoting their academic and professional growth while reinforcing a commitment to social responsibility.
Health (remains) at the Door.
