Reinforcement of cooperation with SEMESP

Taking advantage of her stay in Portugal to participate in the Metared Meeting, the President of SEMESP, Professor Lúcia Teixeira, made a point of meeting with APESP with the aim of deepening the institutional relations between both entities.

During the meeting, several topics relevant to the future of higher education in both countries were addressed, with emphasis on internationalization and the strategic challenges of the sector. Professor Lúcia Teixeira considered the organization of the Lusophone Higher Education Congress, which is being prepared jointly by APESP and AIESPA, to be particularly important, and expressed full availability for the event to assume a tripartite dimension, with the institutional support of Brazil and SEMESP.

On the occasion, a formal invitation was also extended to APESP to participate in FEMESP – Higher Education Forum, the largest event in the area in Latin America, which will take place on September 25 and 26, 2025.

SEMESP is the main representative entity for private higher education in Brazil, bringing together over 800 associated institutions, which represent about 6.8 million students across the country.
